Here are a few simple tips to help you become familiar with the WordPress admin interface and get started blogging.

When you log into your blog for the first time with the information you receive in the welcome email, check the “Remember me” box and your password will be remembered for quick and easy access to your blog in the future.

Select the Options tab to change your blog title or tagline. Do not edit the WordPress address or Blog address URL settings or your blog will not function.

If necessary, under General Options you can edit the Date and Time settings to reflect your time zone so the date-stamp on your blog posts is correct for your location.

Select the Reading Tab to set the number of posts per page on your blog, or to display a static page instead of your most recent posts as the home page.

Select the Presentation Tab to change the theme of your blog. Over a dozen different themes are provided for you to choose from. Themes can be changed as often as you like without altering your blog content.

To start bloggin, simply select the Write Tab or Write a Post from the main dashboard. When you first log in to your blog you will notice one post and comment. You can just edit these or delete them and start from scratch.

The WordPress software we install for free will enable you to easily create unlimited static pages using the admin interface. You must have a page for the blog, but it doesn’t have to be the home page and you need not write any blog posts.

How do I add pictures to my free travel blog? Uploading digital pictures to your blog is simple using the WordPress admin interface we configure for you. When writing a post, simply browse for your file in the “Upload” section of the editor, give it a title and click Upload. once the image appears, insert your cursor where you want the photo to appear in your post and click “Send to Editor.” You can then select your image and dynamically resize it or click on the image icon to change its settings. I want to use RVblogz.com to create a Video Blog of my travels. How do I embed YouTube videos in my posts? Simply copy the “embed” code from your video’s page on YouTube and paste it into your blog post using the editor in “code” mode. Please note that if you use the Visual Editor by default, editing your post after embedding a video may corrupt the link causing the need for you to re-paste the code into your post. This setting can be changed on your user profile page.

What are all the names that appear in my “Blogroll”? The Blogroll is where you can add links to your favorite websites and other blogs you like. The names that appear in your free travel blog are those of leading WordPress developers which get added by default in any new WordPress installation.
